Overview
NACM-New England
sponsors a diverse range of industry trade groups governed by individual
group by-laws.
The group services provided are customized to
best meet the specific needs of each industry.
Industry group meetings provide a forum for suppliers to exchange payment
information on common accounts essential to making sound credit
decisions within the guidelines of the Federal Anti-trust laws.
NACM has prepared a pamphlet,
Anti-Trust Guidelines
for Groups that outlines at a high level what is and what is not
permissible per the Federal Law. Group members meet on a
regular basis, exchange tradeline information via Credit Intelligence
Reports and participate in round-table
discussions about credit issues.
Each participating company within an Industry Credit Group submits a
specified number of customer
accounts or "customer inquires" for evaluation each reporting cycle. These accounts are complied
into a "consolidated list" which is distributed to each group member
who provides their current trade information for each customer with
which they do business. A credit report is produced for every
customer that is listed on the "consolidated list" and the resulting
package of reports is called the "Book of Reports". Depending on
the size of the group, the Book of Reports can contain hundreds of
credit reports on common customers. This in not only an incredible value
for companies, but it is current, accurate and timely information that
cannot be obtained from other credit reporting services.
